"I spent 10 years in the Army as an Airborne Ranger with 5 deployments. The years took their toll and I sustained many injuries during that time. These injuries hindered my ability to live my life and maintain the high level of activity that I was used to. I tried rehabilitation for 2 years through other programs and saw very little results. I began working with Coach John and noticed an immediate difference in his approach. My years-old injuries were first addressed and he also took note of certain training that I like to do and incorporated them into his program for me. Any time I had a question, he was quick to respond and provided expert-level guidance. My quality of life has improved greatly working under his program and in a short amount of time I have been able to get back to an acceptable level of performance and have even surpassed some areas that I didn’t know I was neglecting thanks to him."

"Working with John over the past year has 100 percent changed my life. Learning to care for my body in order to accomplish my goals is now something I do daily. I have learned to fuel myself with whole nutritious foods through his guidance, making small changes as we went to incorporate personal preferences while figuring out what works best for me.
He is very knowledgeable and passionate about nutrition, fitness and health as a whole which can be felt in his personal style of coaching. He not only focuses on nutrition but on all aspects of a healthy lifestyle including sleep, stress, mental health and balance. He is very easy to work with and always motivating. 10/10 recommend!!"

“I am a runner and yoga practitioner, but I haven’t considered myself an athlete since high school. In the past, I’ve used running as a mental release and as a way to get a quick dose of exercise. I was never the fastest nor the strongest, but I held my own- especially given my 40+ age group. I didn’t know that I could develop more physically and mentally. Then I met Coach John. It was only after that meeting that I began to realize what being an athlete really meant.
In working with John, I realized I had not reached my full potential. I was lingering at the starting line. Working with John helped me become more than a stronger runner. With his help I became a better athlete, coach, teacher, wife and friend. Prior to John’s coaching, I thought being a runner meant running every day and eating carbs. However, he helped me see the bigger picture of being an athlete. Good athletes are versatile, and they can adapt. John’s tenacious coaching philosophy is reflected in all movements and methods in the physical world, from olympic lifts to gymnastic bar movements I came to regard weight training as a necessity to improving not just my strength but also my speed and longevity. I came to regard gymnastic movements with the same dedication. The fact that I can do kipping pull ups and rope climbs is due not only to his fastidious methodology on technique but his care for and dedication to his athletes. John got to know me, not as a runner or as a high school teacher but as a human being. He spent time figuring out the quirks of my personality and showed me that weaknesses are just unrealized opportunities. He taught me that sometimes I need to step away from the “flowy” grace of yoga and embrace the grit. He taught me that while the quiet zen of meditation is great, sometimes a victory yell is louder, both literally and metaphorically.
Good coaches are rare in this world. Good coaches not only give technique advice but model the behavior and lifestyle that they are preaching. John does that. Regardless of age or rank or ability, a good coach can employ a variety of interpersonal and intrapersonal skills to connect with athletes. John has a full bag of tricks to connect with his athletes, and he carries himself in a way that makes people want to connect with him. Today I am a stronger runner, but I am also a stronger athlete and person thanks to John.”
